Arrived Tbilisi 7am yesterday. It rained heavily most of yesterday but looking brighter today.
Now I am waiting nervously for my contact from the Georgian Beekeepers Federation to show up.
On past experience, you don’t know when beekeepers will show. The bees (quite rightly) always come first.
One time I was meant to meet a guy, who has hives in a semi desert location in south central Spain. I was very interested in getting some of his desert honey – really, really thick and dark, made in the Spring when the desert flowers.
We’d arranged to meet at 4pm in Murcia. He didn’t show until nearly 4am! He’d had to drive 150 miles somewhere because of a problem with some of his bees.
Anyway, last time I head from Mr Ramaz was Thursday, so hoping everything is still on.
I believe we’re going to meet some people from the ministry of agriculture here first and then later heading out of Tbilisi to meet a beekeeping friend of his.
